Escarpment ′Pahi′ Pinot Noir 2012

Larry McKenna is one of New Zealand’s leading winemakers. He was recently inducted into the New Zealand Wine Hall of Fame, and he specialises in Pinot Noir. In fact, he’s affectionately known as Larry McPinot by those in the know. And his excellence certainly shows in this wine. Larry specifically chose to create it from the McCreanor Vineyard. As a result, it’s soft and ripe – the essential New World Pinot Noir. Top US wine critic James Suckling gave the 2012 vintage 93 points, and it scored 90 Parker Points. It’s beautifully structured, with notes of cherry, raspberry and warm vanilla. Fantastic with buttery chicken.
